Storytime in the Plaza

Wednesday, August 12th, 2009

What a great event for children and families!  Over 100 people showed up in the Harrison Lake Plaza to hear a story read by a local Village Councillor and see a magic show by Wyatt Scott.  Everyone there enjoyed pizza for lunch and recieved a free copy of the story read; Rhinos for Lunch and Elephants for Supper.  Two more storytimes are planned for August 19th and 26th same time, same place.  Be sure to check it out; its fantastic family fun and value.

Brunch on the Farm

Saturday, August 1st, 2009

On July 12th I had the oppertunity to attend a great new event right here in the Fraser Valley. The Event is called Brunch on the Farm, which offers an amazing array of local foods served in the midst of our beautiful scenic valley. There were two location options for the Brunch. The Farmhouse Natural Cheeses and Limbert Mountain Farms. Both of which displayed bountiful amounts of food in an inviting, interactive environment that complimented the themes choosen by the Farms. The Farmhouse Natural Cheeses presented a ‘Swiss Farmhouse Cuisine’ featuring local smoked salmon, cured meats, fresh baked breads and Farmhouse Cheese. At Limbert Mountain Farm they offered ‘West Coast Cuisine’, with dishes rich in fresh herbs, fruits, vegetables and game hen, served in the hillside gardens. We are hoping that this amazing expirience will become an annual event that can continue to showcase the Circle Farm Tour businesses in the Agassiz, Harrison area. You can read more about this event at our websites. www.Tourismharrison.com www.Farmhousecheeses.com and www.Limbertmountainfarm.com The next big Cirlce Farm Tour event is the Slow Food Cycle Tour.
