New Concert Announced

Friday, October 16th, 2009

Friday October 30th, Harrison Festival Society is hosting old time friends Richard Wood and Gordon Belsher. Hailing from Charlottetown PEI, this duo will bring out your tapping toes to some of the best Celtic music around. Praised for his Celtic step dancing, almost as much as for his fiddle playing, Richard assures organizers that he would be doing a bit more dancing this time out. With awards and tv appearances under their belts, this is a concert you don’t want to miss.

For tickets and information regarding this and other concerts through out the year call the Festival office at 604-796-3664 or visit their website at www.harrisonfestival.com

Salmon spawning

Monday, October 5th, 2009

The fish have returned to the Weaver Creek Spawning Channels located just 20 minutes from Harrison Hot Springs.  The run of sockeye today is more than 200 times the size of the run produced from Weaver Creek prior to the channels being constructed in 1965.  The spawning salmon are best viewed during the month of October.  The channels are self guided and there is not a charge to view them.
