8th Annual Bikers for Burns

Sunday, June 27th, 2010

Rain or shine the 8th annual Bikers for Burns Ride will bring riders of all makes and models into beautiful Harrison Hot Springs in the name of raising funds for the Vancouver Fire Fighters Charitable Society.  The run began at Trev Deeley Motorcycles this morning and continued along the Lougheed Hwy until it reached the Harrison Lake Plaza early this afternoon.  An array of rumbling metal and rubber displayed themselves along the picturesque waterfront – a sight to see for motorcycle enthusiasts, locals and visitors alike!

Black Powder Day at Kilby

Sunday, June 27th, 2010

Last Sunday was all about Dad and Kilby Historic Site celebrated these special men with an old fashioned black powder event.  The bbq was fired up, local cowboys demonstrated their skill in an action show and archery and knive throwing demos wowed the crowds.  Many of those who attended wore 1920’s garb and were admitted free of charge!  For info on Kilby’s upcoming events like their Annual Car Show July 10 visit www.kilby.ca.
